SPFA was created as a non-profit association in 1990, following the devastating earthquake of December 1988. Initially involved in relief work, our role has grown to include cultural activity, ecumenical exchange with the Armenian church, relief work and long-term development projects.

The Armenia-based team of SPFA are spread between our regional offices of Yerevan (headquarters), Gyumri, Stepanakaert (haut karabagh) and other project-specific locations. The team of 30 includes administrators, translators, drivers and logistics staff, school helpers, canteen workers, engineers and childcare workers. |

Theology classes are regularly given by SPFA members at the Faculty of Theology, and also to the Evangelical Academy of Armenia. SPFA enjoys close ties with the one of the oldest christian churches.
